Project Events (PE) are an event of several days held to step out of the usual work conditions to gain new perspectives on existing projects, and to take the time for creativity and planning of new projects. The open attitude of SoP is all about the true spirit of "coming together and get things done" in a dynamic environment with limited resources and enthusiastic participants.
Current and past Project Events:
- Summer of Projects (SoP)
- Autumn of Projects (AoP)
- Winter of Projects (WoP)
- Special Editions (SE)
- Regular Project events are held up to four times per year (Spring, Summer, Autumn, Winter).
- Special Editions are either held in-between the regular Projects (not to be mistaken for Follow-Ups) or are applied to regular Projects under special circumstances.
These events draw their name from Google Summer of Code, of which the (Season) of Projects (*oP) also have been inspired from.
*oP locations are not fixed, they are open for others to join, and flexible to adapt to latest changes such as event extensions when more time is needed. Should some tasks be open after *oP concluded, Follow-Up Weeks might be added. These might be held at different locations and not include a gathering of (all) those attending the *oP.
In summary, *oP is the main event whereas the Follow-Up Weeks are the following period focused on closing any tasks left open (or newly introduced) by *oP. They do not refer to the general time a project planned during *oP might need to be executed.
